There are technologies under development to remove carbon dioxide produced by power plants as gas to mines or to sea bottom.

An interesting technology involves use of enzymes to convert CO2 gas to solid carbonate. For example Carbozyme Inc from NJ USA is developing such technology (http://www.carbozyme.us/tech.shtml). This could be more easily stored than CO2 gas.

I think this is much more feasible idea than the Virgin prize idea about removel of he carbon from atmosphere where concentrations are substantially lower.

Virgin is an aviation company, so for the this could be cheaper, but to solve the global problem the resources should be used in most effieceint way.
