The fission nuclear energy produces waste, which is radioactive and poisonous for several hundred thousand years. I don't think there is no good solution for this. I have learned there are plans to bury the waste in bedrock or salt mines or like.

Is there any scientifically sound solutions or
is the idea that responsibility end after certain time?

Here in Finland the nuclear power industry has a plan to bury the waste in bedrock at the property of nuclear powerstation Olkiluoto in Eurajoki at the coast of Baltic sea. They are planning tunnels going 400 m bellow the ground.

Now a professor has shown calculations that permafrost can reach 700-800 m below the ground during hte next ice age. This could break the storage capsules and waste can leak out. It may take thousands or tens of thousands of year till the next ice age, but human has existed several ice ages. People and other nature should be able to live after the next ice age.
